Job description

Job Summary: Oversee dining room operations by providing solution-oriented, positive, exemplary customer service. Will oversee operations within the dining room and at the hostess podium. Our mission is to provide our guests with a 5-star fine dining experience by offering friendly, efficient, professional dining service. We accomplish this through teamwork. Our goal is to anticipate needs (our guests’ and our co-workers’), communicate well, pitch in as needed, and share a positive experience with our co-workers and guests. Engage with guests and “empower every person to celebrate life at its best.” Daily demonstrate our values of attitude, integrity, and teamwork.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
  •  Provide leadership and oversight of duties conducted by dining room servers and host/hostess, ensuring delivery of services in in alignment with Talk of The Town service standards.
  •  Support dining management in the training of new team members relative to fine dining guidelines and dining concierge/reservation guidelines and etiquette.
  •  Ensure cleanliness and proper opening/closing of the host stand.
  •  Ensure team members are properly attired/uniformed.
  •  Assigns servers to reservation floor plan.
  •  Attends pre-meal meetings and assists during dinner service as needed.
  •  Make reservations by phone and in person for dining and for to-go orders. Answer phone, check messages and return calls promptly.
  •  Assures set up of special events.
  •  Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Two years of fine dining experience preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Knowledge of dining operations. Ability to provide high customer service levels in a fast-paced environment. Effective communicator and collaborator. Excellent telephone skills and professional manner. Must possess math and problem-solving abilities. Good computer skills. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-50 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time standing (90%) or sitting (10%). Ability to lead guests to tables and assist with seating.
