Overview

Director of Sales

We are seeking a seasoned, results-driven Director of Sales to lead the sales strategy for the Renaissance St. Louis Airport Hotel. This leadership position plays a vital role in driving revenue through group, corporate, and airline segments. With 31 meeting rooms, extensive banquet and catering operations, and a prime airport location, this role requires deep sales experience, strategic oversight, and immediate impact.

Base pay range

$105,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr

Responsibilities
  • Drive Group Sales: Develop and execute plans to capture and grow high-yield group business. Group business is the top revenue priority.
  • Client Development: Build and maintain relationships with corporate and airline clients, the hotel’s primary target segments.
  • Catering & Banquets: Oversee strategy and collaboration with banquet and catering teams for smooth execution of large-scale events.
  • Booking Strategy: Achieve defined booking goals as outlined in the property's sales plan.
  • Team Leadership: Direct and develop the sales team, ensuring high performance, accountability, and collaboration across departments.
  • Marketing Execution: Leverage a marketing background to execute property-specific promotions, collateral, and campaigns that align with brand standards.
  • System Utilization: Utilize Marriott systems (CI/TY, OneSource, MARSHA, etc.) and reporting tools effectively to drive revenue strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with revenue, catering, and operations to align forecasting and achieve overall hotel revenue targets.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hotel sales leadership experience with a proven track record of success.
  • Marriott experience is required, including deep knowledge of its sales systems and tools.
  • Strong marketing knowledge and experience implementing sales-driven campaigns.
  • Expertise in group sales, event planning, and banquet/catering management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to step in immediately and make strategic contributions from day one.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
