Description
The Range Operator will be responsible for ensuring a safe environment on the shooting range, providing limited personal instruction to key personnel as necessary. Additionally, the Range Operator will maintain a clean and organized area for shooters at all times.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Range Monitoring and Maintenance (50%)
The RO will spend a significant portion of their time monitoring and maintaining the shooting range in order to ensure safe and efficient operations in the TYR Tactical Range. This includes the inventory of items, troubleshooting equipment issues, placing purchase requests for required items, and range set up for daily activities.
Cleaning (20%)
The RO will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of the range and surrounding areas. This includes keeping the floor behind the breach clear of debris such as ammo boxes, targets, spent casings, and other materials. The RO will also ensure all areas inside and outside the control room and range office are clean. Tasks include emptying brass capture buckets, trash bins, cleaning floors, walls, and ceilings, while using proper PPE, after each use, daily.
Other Assistance (30%)
The RO will assist the hard armor department, support R&D, and contribute to production projects as needed. The Range Operator will be certified to assist with FFL transactions.
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of firearms safety
  • Ability to stand, talk, listen, and use hands and fingers to operate fixed breach and range equipment regularly
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include both close and far vision
  • Experience with FFL certification
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds overhead
  • Exceptional technical, problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
  • Must be self-motivated and a great team player
  • Previous Range experience preferred
