Job Summary:
The Arts and Props Tech is responsible for bringing to life the various objects outlined by the creative staff using a blend of artistic abilities. This includes the creation, maintenance, and repair of artistic elements and props throughout the theme park. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various art techniques, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for creating immersive experiences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design, create, and maintain props, set pieces, and decorative elements for various attractions and themed areas within the park.
• Utilize a variety of artistic techniques including painting, carving, sculpting, and faux finishing to achieve desired visual effects.
• Collaborate closely with writers, directors, and artistic designers to develop and implement new artistic concepts and props.
• Work under the supervision of the Technical Manager to ensure all projects are completed to specifications and deadlines.
• Follow written and verbal instructions to accomplish goals and complete tasks effectively.
• Perform regular inspections and maintenance on existing props and sets to ensure they remain in excellent condition and align with the park’s standards.
• Assist in the installation and de-installation of props and set pieces as needed.
• Work with a range of materials including wood, foam, plastic, metal, and fabric.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, on time, and within budget constraints.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in prop-making and artistic techniques.
• Other duties as assigned.
