Job Summary
The Houseperson provides a clean and pleasant environment for the guest, by maintaining the cleanliness and the appearance of guest accommodations and public space. This position may spend a large amount of time assisting other departments in a wide variety of duties based on the needs of the hotel.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Houseperson's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Greet and welcome the guest. Offer assistance to the guest and respond to the guest's needs promptly and courteously.
  • Clean corridors, guest areas, lobby, service areas and linen closets
  • Empty housekeepers' trash and linen bags
  • Carry trash to dumpster
  • Deliver rollaway beds and cribs to guestrooms
  • Turn mattresses as directed by management
  • Stock supplies needed for linen closets
  • Vacuum public areas and corridors
  • Mop vending machine areas and keep machines clean
  • Check and clean all public restrooms several times daily
  • Check an clean all elevators several times daily
  • Assist with luggage handling
  • Strip beds and/or clean rooms when needed
  • Check lights and change bulbs
  • Maintain outside grounds daily
  • Assist in the unloading and storing of deliveries
  • Complete duties and confirm on shift checklist as assigned
  • Various other duties assigned by Supervisor
