Job description

About The Pacific Club:
The Pacific Club is Oʻahu’s premier private city club and has been a cornerstone of Hawaiʻi’s elite community since 1851. Located just outside downtown Honolulu, the Club offers exceptional dining, events, and recreational facilities in a warm, welcoming environment rooted in the spirit of aloha. We are proud to deliver outstanding service while honoring tradition, excellence, and community — and
we are looking for culinary professionals who share that commitment.

Position Summary:
The Cook I / II / III performs food preparation and cooking tasks in a timely and professional manner under the supervision of the Sous Chef. This role supports daily kitchen operations by ensuring quality, consistency, sanitation, and service excellence across all assigned stations and functions. Responsibilities and level of supervision will vary based on experience and placement (Cook I, II, or III).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
(May include, but are not limited to the following)
  • Prepare, season, cook, and plate menu items and special requests with proper garnish.
  • Prepare sauces, soups, stocks, broths, stews, and a variety of hot and cold food items.
  • Assist with buffet setup, service, and breakdown.
  • Expedite orders promptly while maintaining timing and quality standards.
  • Ensure consistency in food preparation and presentation.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary workstations at all times.
  • Perform daily inspections of walk-in refrigerators to ensure proper rotation and food safety.
  • Assist Sous Chef and senior cooks with kitchen operations as assigned.
  • Relieve or substitute for other cooks as operational needs require.
  • Supervise and/or train other kitchen staff as assigned (Cook II / III).
  • In the absence of the Sous Chef, assist with supervision of kitchen staff (Cook III).
  • Adhere to all Pacific Club standards, policies, and food safety regulations.
  • Demonstrate calm, rational decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain knowledge of all menu items and assist staff with questions as needed.

Work Schedule:
  • This is a full-time, non-exempt position requiring 40 or more hours per week.
  • Must have flexibility to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and extended hours based on business needs. Schedules are driven by operational demands rather than a fixed shift.

We offer excellent employee benefits for full-time and part-time positions (working 20+hours/week consistently):
  • 100% of premium paid for employees (health/dental/vision); 70% of the premium paid for dependents.
  • In-house hospitality and culinary training programs.
  • Career development and opportunity for advancement.
  • Free Parking.
  • Free Employee Meal Daily.
  • Christmas and Anniversary Bonuses.
  • Employee of the Month Bonuses.
  • 401K eligible after 6 months of service with employer matching at 50% of employee contribution.
  • 10 Paid Vacation and 5 PTO Days.
  • 10 Paid Holidays.
  • Paid Time-Off for Birthday.
  • Paid Time-Off for Bereavement.
  • Pre-Tax Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Financial Wellness Program.
  • Group Life Insurance.
  • Leadership programs
  • Other paid leaves and optional insurance offerings.
