Dedicated Long Haul Driver (OTR Home Most Weekends)

Ready to hit the open road and enjoy the thrill of long-haul adventures? Join Upper Lakes Foods as a Dedicated Long Haul OTR Driver in Cloquet, MN! Experience the freedom of driving while being rewarded handsomely for every mile you conquer. We offer competitive pay that grows as you do, ensuring your skills are recognized and championed.

You'll be part of a dynamic team that values integrity and innovation in every journey. Not only will you be delivering top-notch products, but you'll also be a critical part of our customer-centric mission. If you have a valid CDL Class A and a penchant for problem-solving, apply now and let's make every mile count together! All miles paid. .61-.65 starting.

Upper Lakes Foods is the largest independent, wholesale food distributor in Minnesota. The company has three facilities located in Cloquet, MN, Northfield, MN and Janesville, WI. We distribute food throughout the Upper Midwest. Upper Lakes Foods specializes in serving foodservice operators such as independent restaurants, assisted living facilities, schools, and national and regional foodservice chain accounts with a strong focus on customer service. Simply put, the mission is to build value for each customer, employee, supplier and community we serve by bringing the best; the best products, best people and best ideas.

As a Dedicated Long Haul OTR Driver at Upper Lakes Foods you'll operate a tractor-trailer in compliance with state and federal transportation laws, ensuring safety and efficiency on every journey. You'll conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, turning in DVIR reports weekly to keep our operations top-notch. Maintaining DOT hours of service logs—whether electronic or manual—is key, as is managing your time to meet scheduled customer delivery appointments.

You'll uphold load integrity and handle essential paperwork, including signed invoices and shipping bills of lading. Building effective relationships with customers and the community is part of your role, alongside regular attendance and performing other duties as needed. Join us in driving the future of food manufacturing while enjoying the thrill of the road! 2 years experience but not required. Consistent routes and schedules while supporting our internal supply chains.

To thrive as a Dedicated Long Haul OTR Driver at Upper Lakes Foods, Inc., you'll need a unique blend of skills and determination. A clean driving record with no moving violations or DOT reportable accidents in the last three years is essential, along with a solid understanding of DOT regulations. Proficiency in using tools like GPS systems, including XRS, is key to navigating your routes with ease. You must be adaptable and communicate effectively, tailoring your style to fit different audiences while ensuring safety compliance. Strong time-management and attention-to-detail skills are critical for trip planning and documentation accuracy.

You should be prepared to work in all weather conditions, demonstrating resilience and adherence to safety practices. Physical stamina is important, as you'll spend prolonged periods sitting, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, and maneuvering within the truck. Embrace the adventure of the open road while showcasing your expertise!

So, what do you think? If you feel this is the right job for you, go ahead and apply! We look forward to meeting you!
