Job description

We are looking for a dependable, safety-minded Tree Crew Groundsperson with Class A

or B CDL Driver to join our professional tree care team.

This is a hands-on position combining commercial driving with tree crew ground

operations. The ideal candidate has a valid Class A or B CDL, is comfortable operating

trucks and towing equipment, and is ready to work hard alongside the crew once we arrive

at the jobsite.

Tree care experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right commercial driver

who has a strong work ethic, good situational awareness, and an interest in learning the

tree care industry.


Responsibilities

  • Safely drive commercial vehicles to and from jobsites
  • Transport crews, wood, chips, equipment, and trailers
  • Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Maintain required driver logs, inspection records, and other documentation
  • Safely back, maneuver, park, and position trucks and trailers in residential and
  • commercial environments
  • Assist tree climbers and crew leaders with ground operations
  • Drag and process brush, limbs, and wood
  • Operate brush chippers and other tree care equipment
  • Use ropes and rigging systems under the direction of the climber or crew leader
  • Operate chainsaws and other equipment when properly trained and authorized
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and securing equipment
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
  • Follow company safety procedures and proper PPE requirements
  • Protect customer property and maintain a professional appearance on every jobsite
  • Assist with final cleanup and leave jobsites clean and orderly


Qualifications


Required:

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Ability to safely operate commercial trucks and trailers
  • Knowledge of commercial vehicle inspections and basic DOT requirements
  • Dependable, punctual, and responsible
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physical outdoor labor
  • Ability to lift, carry, drag, and move heavy materials throughout the workday
  • Ability to work safely around moving equipment, falling debris, ropes, and active
  • tree operations
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions
  • Willingness to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions


Preferred Experience

  • Previous tree care, landscaping, forestry, logging, construction, or similar outdoor

work experience

  • Experience operating brush chippers
  • Chainsaw experience
  • Experience driving dump trucks, chip trucks, equipment trucks, or similar
  • commercial vehicles
  • Experience towing and backing trailers
  • Experience operating skid steers, loaders, mini skid steers, or other equipment
  • Knowledge of basic tree care and rigging operations
  • First Aid/CPR certification
