Overview
If the next step in your career could amplify your passion for helping others, wouldn't you want to embark on that journey? As a Speech Language Pathologist in one of Georgia's charming communities, you will play a vital role not only in managing communication and swallowing disorders but also in igniting potential and rebuilding self-assurance. Picture the joy on a child's face as they speak their first words, or the liberation felt by an older adult as they regain their confidence.
Your new role offers a unique mix of challenges and rewards by allowing you to engage with a diverse clientele, from children to the elderly, in a dynamic environment that embraces both outpatient therapy and occasional inpatient care. Whether your expertise lies in pediatric speech development, neurogenic communication in adults, or cognitive rehabilitation in geriatric patients, you'll find a supportive setting for growth and variety.
Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using both formal evaluations and observational methods.
  • Create individualized treatment strategies that target both interim goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver tailored speech therapy that addresses communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physical and occupational therapists, physicians, caregivers, and family members to formulate cohesive care plans.
  • Provide education for patients and their families, empowering them to promote progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Occasionally participate in inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions to ensure seamless continuity in patient care.
  • Maintain precise and prompt documentation in accordance with all relevant guidelines.
  • Stay informed on best practices through ongoing education and collaboration with peers in the field.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
Certifications
  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hiring.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based practices for a variety of age groups, understanding both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and collaborative healthcare teams.
  • Adept at modifying therapy approaches to accommodate varying cultural and linguistic preferences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Comfortable working with electronic medical records and compliance documentation.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary reflecting experience and expertise.
  • Flexible working hours to ensure a healthy work-life balance.
  • Opportunities for specialization in various fields including pediatrics, adult neuro rehab, or geriatrics.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
  • Comprehensive healthcare options including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Support for continuing education and professional development.
  • A cooperative work culture focused on high-quality care and lifelong learning.

Your Journey Awaits - Begin Here
In this position, you will not only provide necessary speech therapy; you'll become a part of a community that is devoted to restoring voices, enhancing communication, and creating delightful moments through understanding. Embrace the camaraderie of colleagues who operate as a family, in a nurturing atmosphere that prioritizes collaboration over competition. Here, each patient's narrative matters, and we trust you to help write the next chapter.
Why You Will Enjoy Living and Working Here
Living in this picturesque part of Georgia offers a unique blend of southern charm and cultural richness, making it a perfect backdrop for your next adventure. Augusta boasts scenic parks, historic sites, and lovely river views, creating an environment where nature and community thrive harmoniously.
Families gather for weekend events at the riverwalk, where local musicians perform, and farmers markets flourish with the freshest produce. Outdoor enthusiasts can relish a variety of activities such as golfing, hiking, and boating, all while enjoying the warm Georgia weather. Culinary delights abound here, with dining experiences ranging from cozy cafes to exquisite fine dining, featuring local southern cuisine.
This area cultivates a vibrant creative scene, where the rhythms of life blend into a symphonic experience encompassing art festivals, live performances, and community gatherings. And as a professional, you will benefit from a favorable work environment where opportunities for career development flourish alongside a reasonable cost of living and tax advantages.
Whether you are a newcomer to the field or a seasoned practitioner seeking new horizons, this is the perfect place to nurture your career - both personally and professionally.
Who We Are Searching For
We are in search of a Speech Language Pathologist who is not only outcome-oriented but grounded in empathy. Someone who envisions the bright future of a child who is learning to express themselves or recognizes the perseverance in a stroke survivor's journey to regain their speech.
You may specialize in pediatrics wishing to extend your reach to adults or a clinician focused on neuro rehabilitation eager to include early intervention in your service offerings.
If you are prepared to serve with compassion and lead with expertise, we are excited to welcome you.
Join Us in Making Connections
If you understand that speech transcends mere sound and therapy involves nurturing trust more than just achieving goals, if you see laughter as vital as language, then this could be your next impactful chapter.
Come join us in a community that values communication, connection, and the strength it takes to start anew. Apply today, bring your unique voice to our team, and help others discover theirs.
