Job description

Adele's in the Gulch is looking for an experienced Host to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a courteous, positive, and energetic attitude, with strong communication skills for interacting with both guests and team members. Weekend availability required.

Host Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide courteous, prompt service to our guests.
  • Answer incoming phone calls within a timely manner.
  • Seat guests by finding a clean, available table, pulling out chairs, and placing clean menu in front of guest.
  • Adhere to seating guidelines to ensure equitable distribution among servers.
  • Greet guests when entering the restaurant with a pleasant smile and superior customer service.
  • Assist with take out orders.
  • Monitor dining areas for seating availability, service, safety and well being of guests.
  • Assist servers when needed.
  • Thank every guest upon departure, invite them to return, and wish them a fond farewell.
  • Manage reservations; familiarity with Open Table.
  • Successfully adhere to Adele's Steps of Service.
  • Working knowledge of menu and beverage offerings.
  • Ability to communicate guest requests, including dietary restrictions, to culinary staff.
  • Perform opening and closing duties.
  • Help to maintain a clean and presentable work environment.

Host Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of host experience in a high-volume restaurant operation preferred.
  • Prior related experience requiring excellent customer service, cash handling, service recovery and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; computer proficiency required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing the needs of guests.
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers throughout the restaurant.
  • Possess a passion for hospitality and a love of the food & beverage industry.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings as we are a dinner only restaurant.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires frequent bending, reaching overhead, and twisting. Must be able to stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
