Job description

Job Summary
DEFINITION:
Under the direction of the school Principal, the Community School Coordinator is the school leadership team member responsible for the design, implementation, and supervision of a set of programmatic preventions, interventions, and enrichment activities designed to support the holistic development of students. The Community School Coordinator works under the daily guidance of the Principal to develop and supervise all community school programming in the school, including:
โ€ข Attendance support and interventions
โ€ข Family support services
โ€ข Family engagement and community-building
โ€ข Health and wellness services
โ€ข Enrichment activities including those that occur during the school day, after school, and summer.
The Community School Coordinator is a leader who empowers, builds, creates, and develops relationships with school leaders, educational partners, and community organizations to implement a community school strategy guided by a community school plan. In addition, the Community School Coordinator bridges the relationships among all community partners to improve connectedness and surround the whole child with support-academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.
EXAMPLE OF JOB DUTIES: (May include, but is not limited to the following)
The Community School Coordinator is responsible for working specifically with the Principal and other members of the school Leadership Team to ensure that the barriers to learning that may exist for each student are eliminated and/or significantly reduced.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (Include, but are not limited to the following)
1. Assure the high-quality functioning of other community school programming, including health, dental, mental health, and family support services.
2. Assure the above is carried out within the context of partnership and collaboration.
3. Collaborate with the Principal to effectively execute and maintain partnerships.
