Job description

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Briarcliff High School Athletics is seeking reliable, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented individuals to support our athletic events by filling the following key game-day roles:

1. Timekeeper

  • Operate game clock and ensure accurate timekeeping throughout athletic events.
  • Coordinate with referees and other officials to maintain game flow.

2. Scorekeeper

  • Maintain the official scorebook or scoreboard for games.
  • Accurately record game statistics and communicate with coaching staff and referees.

3. Announcer

  • Provide live commentary and announcements during games.
  • Introduce teams, announce scores, and read scripted messages.
    4. Event Chaperone

  • Supervise students and spectators during home games and events.
  • Ensure a safe, respectful, and sportsmanlike environment in the stands and surrounding areas.
  • Serve as a liaison between event staff, school administrators, and security if needed.
  • Remain visible and approachable throughout the event.

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • Knowledge of the sport(s) you are applying to support.
  • Ability to focus and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience (preferred but not required training will be provided).

Commitment

  • After-school hours and occasional weekend availability required.
  • Seasonal commitment based on sports schedules.

REPORTS TO: The athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in 

conjunction with the high school principals 


Salary: $78 per Varsity event, $47 per JV/Modified event. Football timekeeping is paid at $88; Chaperone $75 per five (5) hours in-district; $90 per five (5) hours, out of district
