POSITION SUMMARY:  
Men's Lounge Bar and Locker Room Assistant will operate within the boundaries of the yearly schedule, budget and Club Rules, under the direction of the Head Golf Professional, in accordance with member requirements and interaction.
Will communicate actively with other departments on events and activities of the Club. Will oversee the men’s locker room and all shoe care, coordinate and work in concert with the Spa, Fitness and Ladies’ Locker Room to accommodate member requests and special functions, and help to hire, train, and motivate the locker room staff. Assist with airport transportation, the lap pool, and fitness areas as needed.  Help to monitor that operations are within an annual budget, and policies, procedures and operations manuals are up to date.  Must be a team player, make independent decisions, project a positive attitude, listen and deliver on member requests and possess a hands-on supervisory style.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Develop a superior service attitude and presentation among the staff, with an understanding that positive interaction, a “can do” attitude and anticipating the needs of the members and their guests is a guiding philosophy.
  • Demonstrate strong, positive communication skills and a cooperative working environment for all staff members.
  • Be the primary member contact and greet every member or guest coming into the men’s locker room as they enter.
  • Help to hire, train, manage, and motivate a complete locker room staff that maintain the highest level of personal presentation and professionalism and respect for the membership.
  • Operating within the boundaries of the Ambassador Handbook and Policies and Procedures Manual, maintaining high ethical and moral standards, providing leadership, supervision and guidance to all locker room staff. Meet with them as a team on a schedule published in advance.
  • Help maintain an organizational Ambassador policies and procedures manual and establish goals for the service standards and training of the locker room team and Club.
  • Deliver food and beverage service in a friendly and professional manner that matches the standards of other food and beverage outlets including breakfast, lunch, dinner and special events.
  • In a cooperative manner, work in concert with the Head Golf Professional, Spa Director, Ladies Locker Room Manager, Fitness Director, Food and Beverage Director and Events Coordinator to support Club golf events and host members and guests for all golf tournaments and special events.
  • Purchase and monitor all supplies to include complimentary snacks, soaps, towels, robes, slippers and toiletry items for the men’s locker room.
  • Ensure a hygienically clean locker room environment, including steam, shower, soaking and jetted tubs.
  • Manage and perform all shoe care maintenance and repairs for both the men’s and lady’s locker rooms.
  • Manage an accurate and up to date locker list to include billing while providing the best experience for members and their guests.
  • Assist the department in working within an annual budget, with monthly variance review, including three-year projections, helping to manage hourly labor and all expenses.
  • Be mindful of the health and wellness component of the Club, which will focus on the spiritual, emotional, mental and physical well-being of Club members.
  • Make the Men’s Locker Room an environment in which our members want to spend time with fellow members and their guests, respecting that “It’s all about the Member”.                                                       
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Approach all encounters with members, guests and fellow Ambassadors in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner with complete respect for their feelings.
  • Regular attendance of TEAM and Ambassador meetings is mandatory.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which require proper attire and name tag when working, and ensuring that all other employees adhere to the same.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor while always being discreet and professional.
  • Monitor and control department expenses and payroll.
  • Address members and guests before they address you.
  • Monitor and maintain the orderliness and cleanliness of the entire Club area.
  • Be highly visible at the Club throughout the workday and week.
  • Consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited while on Martis Camp property or at Club functions.
  • Support other departments so that they may be successful.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs. assisted and 50lbs not assisted
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for 4-8 hours at a time and 8-10 hours total per shift
  • Must be able to reach, bend, kneel, pull & push to assist with storage cleaning duties and event space maintenance
AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to work overtime in peak periods
  • Must be able to work varied shifts at different locations and with minimal or no supervision

WAGE AND BENEFITS:

  • Hourly wage of $20.00- $24.00 /hour plus gratuities
