Club Representative Job Description


Are you passionate about helping others achieve their fitness goals? Do you thrive in a positive and energetic environment? If so, the Downtown Athletic Club (DAC) has an exciting opportunity for you! We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Club Representatives. At DAC, we believe in helping people feel good from the inside out, and we are looking for individuals who share our mission and values.


Primary Responsibilities

This is an active role that includes both member service and operational tasks.

  • Create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for all members and guests of the Downtown Athletic Club.
  • Greeting and engaging visitors, providing excellent customer service.
  • Support daily operations at the Welcome Desk by checking members in, answering phones, and responding to questions.
  • Assist members with administrative needs, including membership changes, account updates, and general information requests.
  • Resolve member concerns promptly and professionally to ensure a positive, supportive experience.
  • Actively promote club activities, programs, and initiatives to increase member engagement and participation.
  • Communicate DAC programs, classes and services to members and prospective customers.
  • Support members in achieving their fitness goals by offering guidance on equipment usage, class schedules, and training programs.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a clean, organized, and member-ready club environment.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Responsible for laundry operations, including washing, drying, folding, and restocking towels.
  • Maintain clean and organized locker rooms by wiping surfaces, replenishing supplies, and ensuring cleanliness standards are met.
  • Assist with daily cleaning tasks throughout the facility to support overall club hygiene and enhance the member experience.
  • Perform scheduled pool chemical checks and log readings accurately to support a safe and compliant Aquatics Center.

General Responsibilities in a Fast-Paced Role

  • Work efficiently and stay organized during peak traffic periods.
  • Understand that this is an active, hands-on role essential to the daily operation of the club.
  • Respond quickly to member needs while maintaining a positive, approachable attitude.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation procedures at all times.


Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds safely throughout the shift.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move continuously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable performing active, physical tasks for extended periods of time.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or coursework pertaining to fitness/sports/health & wellness or hospitality
  • Knowledge of or interest in fitness and wellness.
  • A genuine smile, positive energy, and passion for helping others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with members and guests.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities and the ability to think on your feet.
  • A team-oriented mindset with comfort working in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
  • Pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting atmosphere throughout the club.
  • Strong reliability and punctuality.
