Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our team at the Private Counseling Group in Austin, Texas. This full-time position offers the unique opportunity to provide mental health counseling services remotely, utilizing a telehealth platform to connect with clients. If you are passionate about helping young adults navigate their mental health journeys and seek to provide transformative support, this role could be an ideal fit for you.

About the Organization

The Private Counseling Group is not just a provider of mental health services but a vibrant community committed to fostering change and unlocking the potential of each individual we serve. We are driven by core values that emphasize compassion, empathy, and empowerment, positioning ourselves to make significant progress in the lives of our clients. Our mission is clear: to inspire hope, promote healing, and guide individuals toward lasting recovery.

Work Environment

As a remote position, this role provides you with the flexibility to work from anywhere while staying deeply connected with your clients through our advanced telehealth systems. You will be supported by a multidisciplinary team, consisting of fellow therapists and mental health professionals, who are equally committed to collaborative care. Your work-life balance is a key priority, as we maintain a Monday to Friday schedule with no evening or weekend hours, allowing you to focus on both your professional responsibilities and personal well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Group Therapy: Facilitate supportive group sessions that encourage peer connections and shared experiences, creating an environment where clients feel valued and heard.
  • Individual Therapy: Provide tailored counseling experiences to clients, helping them delve into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to develop coping mechanisms and actionable plans for improvement.
  • Treatment Planning: Collaborate with clients to formulate goal-driven treatment plans that target their unique challenges, ensuring every plan aligns with their preferences and needs.
  • Progress Monitoring: Utilize assessment tools to track client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on feedback and outcomes to ensure effective care.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with a team of professionals, engaging in regular communication to coordinate care and consult on complex cases to maximize client outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be working with young adults facing mental health challenges, including mood disorders and anxiety. You will engage with clients from diverse backgrounds and experiences, allowing you to apply your clinical skills effectively while making a meaningful impact on their recovery and personal growth.

Qualifications

  • Education: A Master's degree in a relevant field such as counseling, psychology, social work, or marriage and family therapy is required.
  • Licensure: You must possess a valid Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license.
  • Clinical Experience: Previous experience in mental health treatment, particularly with individuals facing mood or mental health disorders, in either outpatient or residential settings is essential.
  • Collaboration: A strong aptitude for teamwork and a passion for our mission to foster positive change within the community is necessary in this role.
  • Clinical Skills: Proficiency in motivation interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) is highly desired, alongside strong documentation skills to maintain records of client progress effectively.

Preferred Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in conducting both group and individual therapy sessions with a focus on young adults.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and their functionalities to deliver effective therapy in a virtual environment.
  • Engagement in continued professional development and education within the mental health field.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The annual salary for this position ranges from $85,000 to $100,000, reflecting your skills and experience.
  • Enjoy comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage to support you and your family's health needs.
  • Benefit from short-term and long-term disability and life insurance, providing you with additional financial peace of mind.
  • Participate in a 401k program that offers up to a 5% match, aiding your long-term financial planning.
  • Take advantage of four weeks of paid time off annually, inclusive of PTO and paid floating holidays, promoting a balanced work-life approach.
  • Access a robust employee assistance program that encompasses counseling, legal consultations, financial planning resources, and wellness coaching.
  • Engage in ongoing education and CEU support to enhance your professional skill set and knowledge.

Career Growth Opportunities

At the Private Counseling Group, we recognize that professional development is paramount. As a member of our team, you will benefit from free clinical supervision and numerous opportunities for career advancement, enabling you to grow alongside the organization.
