Job description

Position Summary:

The Production Supervisor at TH Foods Inc. is responsible for ensuring plant production is obtained at or above expected levels, in a safe manner, the quality of the product is within company and food safety standards and is completed within or below budget for materials and labor. The Production Supervisor is the critical factor in providing a positive work environment in which employee problems are recognized and responded to effectively, all employees understand their responsibilities and performance expectations, are enabled to perform their jobs effectively, and are encouraged to share and act upon their ideas for improvement.


Essential Duties and Requirements include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Produce high quality safe products through maximizing the use of all resources.
  • Maintain quality specifications for all product lines.
  • Maintain safety standards for plant conditions and employee practices.
  • Utilize initiative and influence to drive results and promote continuous improvement.
  • Coach individual development and build operational teams to achieve business results and workforce effectiveness.
  • Utilize expertise to solve operational problems, optimize systems, and plan for future requirements
  • Ensure attainment of planned production goals.
  • Ensure all SQF quality standards and process procedures are maintained.
  • Control waste generated during production.
  • Involve the work force in developing improvements.
  • Achieve cost improvement goals through optimizing labor productivity and expense control.
  • Maintain and continuously improve areas, which impact on Team Member safety.
  • Ensure that proper training is given to all employees.
  • Employ a team building technique while managing the business.
  • Ensure that employees are aware of their performance levels through regular communications as well as annual on time formal appraisals.
  • Drive to attain key performance indicators goals.
  • Develop back up personnel for all key positions.
  • Ensure inventory transactions are correctly done on time and satisfy Company objectives.
  • Ensure all paperwork is accurate and turned in daily.
  • Responsible for recognizing and reporting and correcting food safety, employee safety and quality issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has supervisory responsibilities for a crew of Machine Operators and Packers.


Qualifications

  • Proven leadership skills.
  • 2 - 4 years experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Possess good communications skills, verbal and written.
  • Able to apply various numerical analytical problem solving methods.
  • Experience in the use of personal computers.

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or equivalent is required. College Degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Five to seven years in plant operations and production in the Food Industry is required. Ten or more years of supervisory production experience for a similar size company is preferred.
