Job description

TITLE: Baler Operator

Falls Creek Processing

PURPOSE:

Operate Baler as per specifications and all safety regulations.

FUNCTION:

  • Operate Baler to produce bales as needed to assure production quotas and deadlines are met.
  • Work performed is within acceptable quality standards.
  • General housekeeping and safety.
  • Performs other related activities as directed by the Plant Manager and the Warehouse Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Operate Baler as per specifications and all safety regulations.
  • Tie bales properly.
  • Assist Forklift Truck Operator in transporting and weighing of bales.
  • Performs production activities assigned by the Plant Manager and the Warehouse Manager
  • Quality and material control.
  • General housekeeping and safety.
  • Work closely with textile sorters to keep bale production running smoothly.
  • Other related duties as directed by the Plant Manager and Warehouse Manager.

RELATIONS:

Establish and maintain relations with the following:

  • The Plant Manager and the Warehouse Manager for the coordination of efforts.
  • Other workers in organization, assists in work, perform production activities and related work.

STANDARDS FOR MEASURING PERFORMANCE:

  • Degree to which standards are reached.
  • Degree to which respect and confidence of co-workers is established.
  • Quality, quantity, and timeliness in the performance of assigned tasks.
  • The manner in which one's conduct reflects the high standards of morals and integrity expected of all Goodwill associates.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and respond to special requests and the desires of management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred, but on-the-job training is provided.
  • Must be able to pass Baler Operation training requirements.
  • Must be able to complete paperwork as required.
  • Must have good work habits, such as acceptable attitude and punctuality.
  • Must respond appropriately to supervision.
  • Must possess adequate physical endurance to perform attached job functions and expectations.
