Off-Site Linen Distribution Technician
Location: Northside Gwinnett Hospital
Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract Position
Shift: 3rd Shift | 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Schedule: Full-Time | Rotating Weekends & Holidays

Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, service-focused Off-Site Linen Distribution Technician to support linen operations at Northside Cherokee Hospital. This position is responsible for delivering clean linen, collecting soiled linen, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, and providing excellent customer service to hospital departments.

The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and able to perform the physical demands of linen distribution throughout the shift.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Deliver clean linen to designated hospital departments using covered linen carts.

Collect soiled linen and transport it safely to designated collection areas.

Verify linen deliveries and maintain accurate distribution and inventory records.

Conduct linen inventory counts as required.

Stock and organize linen rooms and designated storage areas.

Monitor linen usage and report shortages, quality concerns, or supply issues to the supervisor.

Respond promptly and professionally to requests and concerns from hospital staff.

Develop and maintain positive working relationships with hospital employees and departments.

Maintain clean, organized, and safe linen storage and work areas.

Follow all hospital policies, infection prevention procedures, safety requirements, and applicable Joint Commission standards.

Complete basic clerical duties, including data entry, documentation, and answering phones as needed.

Operate laundry or linen-handling equipment when required.

Assist with special projects and other department responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.

1-2 years of experience in healthcare, manufacturing, distribution, hospitality, or a similar environment preferred.

Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Dependable and able to maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to prioritize responsibilities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Basic computer skills and ability to learn required systems.

Must be available to work 3rd shift, rotating weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding position requiring activity throughout the entire shift. Candidates must be able to:

Stand and walk for extended periods.

Frequently bend, stoop, twist, reach, and perform repetitive movements.

Regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Push and pull loaded linen carts weighing up to 400 pounds.

Reach overhead and work at various heights when stocking linen.

Safely perform repetitive physical tasks throughout an 8-hour shift.

Work Environment
This position works within an active hospital environment and requires regular interaction with hospital staff, patients, visitors, and other team members. Employees are expected to maintain professionalism, follow infection prevention and safety procedures, and provide responsive customer service at all times.
