Position Overview:We are seeking an experiencedDispatcher/Router to manage the daily dispatching and routing of our of trucks for construction, demolition and dumpster rental services. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient scheduling, clear communication with drivers, and seamless coordination with customers. This role is crucial for maintaining our operations, optimizing fleet performance, and delivering high-quality service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Scheduling & Dispatching: Create and manage daily truck schedules for deliveries, pickups, and site work.
  • Routing Optimization: Develop and maintain efficient routes to reduce costs and improve productivity.
  • Driver Coordination: Communicate with drivers to monitor job progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Customer Communication: Maintain clear, professional communication with customers regarding job status, delays, and concerns.
  • Fleet Management: Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure trucks are in optimal condition for dispatch.
  • Bookkeeping & Invoicing: Assist with tracking job-related expenses, preparing invoices, and maintaining accurate records of payments and billing for completed jobs.
  • Problem Solving: Respond to operational disruptions, adjust routes, and provide solutions for traffic or weather delays.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to DOT regulations and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Docket- dumpster rental/routing software, GPS tracking, and fleet management tools is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in scheduling, documentation, and invoicing.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations and make quick decisions.
  • Familiarity with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety protocols.

Physical Requirements:
  • Sitting for Extended Periods: Ability to sit for long periods while managing dispatch operations and monitoring drivers.
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for typing, using computer equipment, and operating communication devices (phones, radios, etc.).
  • Visual and Auditory Acuity: Must have the ability to see computer screens, GPS systems, and small text; must also have excellent hearing to communicate effectively with drivers and team members via phone and radio.
  • Mobility: Ability to move around the office and occasionally visit job sites if necessary.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally required to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
