Job Title: Material Handler
Location: On-Site, Melbourne, FL Employment Type: Contract to Hire Industry: Defense & Aerospace
Compensation: $17.00/hr + 10% shift differential for 2nd shift
Schedule: 9/80 Mon-Fri (every other Friday off) Shift: 2nd - 3:30pm - 1:00am
About the Opportunity: Acara is currently seeking a Material Handler for our client, a leading organization in the defense & aerospace sector. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team while developing your professional expertise. The ideal candidate will have experience in shipping, receiving and cycle counting.
What You'll Do:
  • Read work orders or follow verbal instructions to identify materials to transport
  • Open containers using steel cutters, a crowbar, a claw hammer, or other hand tools
  • Load materials to and from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
  • Load materials to and from vehicles
  • Use hand tools to install strapping, bracing, or padding to protect materials in transit
  • Transport materials from storage or worksites to designated areas-including the manufacturing floor-by use of hand truck, electric dolly, or another device
  • Count, weigh, and record materials moved or handled in an ERP system
  • Attach tags or labels to materials (or otherwise mark information)

What You'll Bring:

  • Minimum 1 year of stockroom / warehouse experience (receiving, put-away, picking, staging)
  • Minimum 1 year of cycle count experience
