Certified Surgical Technologist

Location: Cypress, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $45.00/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

On-Call: Yes | Rotated among staff

Dean's Professional Services is seeking an experienced and adaptable Certified Surgical Technologist to support a leading healthcare system in Cypress, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Surgical Technologist with strong Cardiovascular (CV) and Hybrid Vascular experience to join a busy 9-operating-room surgical department, including a dedicated Hybrid Vascular Suite and Cystoscopy Suite.

The ideal candidate is comfortable supporting complex vascular and endovascular procedures and can seamlessly transition between specialty and general surgical services based on departmental needs. Additional experience in Orthopedics, General Surgery, ENT, and/or Plastics is highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating rooms, surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies for scheduled procedures.
  • Provide skilled surgical technology support throughout the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of care.
  • Demonstrate strong expertise supporting Cardiovascular (CV), vascular, and endovascular procedures, including cases performed in a Hybrid Vascular Suite.
  • Anticipate the needs of surgeons and the surgical team while maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-organized operating room.
  • Perform surgical counts of instruments, sharps, sponges, and supplies according to established protocols.
  • Maintain sterile technique and ensure adherence to infection prevention and patient safety standards.
  • Handle surgical instruments and equipment appropriately and efficiently during procedures.
  • Assist with room turnover, equipment preparation, and maintaining OR readiness throughout the day.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, and other members of the multidisciplinary surgical team.
  • Support additional surgical service lines as needed based on department volume and staffing requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in rotating on-call coverage and respond to urgent surgical needs as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Current National Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent, relevant Surgical Technologist experience required.
  • Cardiovascular (CV) experience required.
  • Hybrid Vascular experience required.
  • Strong experience supporting complex vascular and endovascular procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume 9-OR surgical environment.
  • Flexibility to support multiple surgical service lines as departmental needs change.
  • Additional experience in Orthopedics, General Surgery, ENT, and/or Plastic Surgery preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, infection prevention, and OR safety practices.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, organization, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
