Job description

Position Summary PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION. THE EMPLOYMENT PERIOD WILL BE FROM SEPTEMBER 2026 TO FEBRUARY 2027. While this position is being recruited as a temporary assignment, future employment opportunities may become available.

Join Ogden-Weber Technical College's Testing Center team and play an important role in supporting student success through our values of Community, Learning, and Integrity. As a Testing Center Specialist, you will be the welcoming face of the Testing Center, greeting and checking in test candidates, verifying identification, and proctoring a variety of exams. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service while partnering with students, instructors, and College staff to foster a secure, efficient, and courteous testing environment that promotes learning and academic integrity.

Working under the direction of the Testing Center Coordinator, you will help create a positive testing experience while contributing to OTECH's commitment to serving our campus community. Essential Functions 1. Maintain the integrity and security of testing and the Testing Center by following all security and privacy protocols.

2. Enforce security protocols to prevent cheating, including verifying examinee identity, monitoring for unauthorized materials and preventing communication between examinees. 3.

Greet tester, verify ID, provide instructions to students regarding their test, seat candidate and launch test. Proctor test and monitor candidate and testing lab. 4.

Maintain the cleanliness of testing area. 5. Operate office equipment.

6. Work with and protect confidential information. 7.

Operate electronic mail and messaging systems. 8. Accurately organize and file test materials in both paper and electronic formats.

9. Look up student and other information in the college's Student Information System. 10.

Enforce required policies and procedures firmly and courteously. 11. Provide accurate and consistent information in a clear and articulate manner.

12. Provide excellent customer service to all visitors to the testing center. 13.

Perform duties with limited supervision. 14. Incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned Requirements Education and Experience Required: 1.

One (1) year customer service experience required. 2. High school diploma, or equivalent.

3. Proficiency in maintaining a quiet, comfortable, and confidential environment. 4.

Proven ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion. 5. Demonstrated problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

6. Attention to detail with an ability to organize duties and establish priorities. 7.

Demonstrated customer service skills in highly interactive service environments. 8. Ability to work autonomously under pressure, managing multiple client interactions.

9. Proven track record of dependability and maintaining consistent performance. 10.

Working knowledge of Microsoft office software applications. 11. Experience working in a testing environment is desirable.

12. Spanish speaking proficiency desirable. Physical Requirements: 1.

Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work. 2.

Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc. 3. Consistent attendance is essential to fulfilling the role's responsibilities and maintaining a productive work environment

Additional Information HOURS: Training hours will vary and be scheduled during regular daytime business hours. Upon successful completion of training, the regular schedule will be Monday through Thursday, 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m

Position Duration: This temporary position is anticipated to begin in September 2026 and continue through February 2027. While this position is being recruited as a temporary assignment, future employment opportunities may become available. CONDITIONAL OFFER: A conditional offer of employment will be made pending satisfactory completion of a background investigation.
