(QAI) is a multi-national professional certification body, test laboratory, and inspection agency with offices throughout North America and Asia.  Recognition of the QAI name and logo have grown significantly over the past few years resulting in significant expansion of the business.   We are looking for a talented, hardworking, dedicated person to join our growing team and support future expansion of the business.


We are looking for a Test Technician – Physical/Mechanical Testing to join our Building Products team in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Our ideal candidate would be someone who is very motivated and likes to be hands on and interested in working in a fast-paced product testing laboratory with the ability to read and comprehend test standards and specifications for performing the testing. The ideal candidate would be someone with testing experience in the product testing industry and be willing to cross train in other areas of the business.

 

DUTIES: You will perform, but not be limited to, the following duties:

  • Conduct testing of products following national standards such as ASTM, UL, CSA and other methods.  
  • Conducts supervised and/or unsupervised testing, data analysis, and test report preparation
  • Assist project managers, engineers and operations managers in the supervision of testing, data analysis and test report preparation
  • Become familiar with ASTM, UL, CSA and other standards, the US and Canadian standards system, and implementation of standards towards product certification, testing and inspection programs
  • Maintain a level of technical competence in the field of testing to ensure validity of test results. 
  • Maintain compliance with the QAI quality management system and code of conduct
  • Work with the QAI sales team to provide technical support, when requested
  • Other duties as may be assigned
  • Able to identify conformance to test, inspection, and/or certification criteria and communicate this to clients and throughout the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will:

  • Have technologist / technician / licensed trade / or equivalent work experience to be qualified by QAI as able to work in a specific technical area
  • Possess the ability to read, understand, and apply technical standards towards product testing programs
  • Possess “Good Laboratory Practice” skills essential for testing products.
  • Possess strong analytical skills
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Possess superior MS Word and Excel skills and be proficient with email correspondence
