Job Description

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Austin TX IT Innovation Center or Warren Michigan GM Technical Center3-4 days per week (T-W-Th)

The Role

GM is seeking a Systems Analyst specializing in end user testing to support major technology transformations across a global and complex organization. This role combines strong systems analysis discipline with ownership of the end user testing function to ensure new platforms, tools, and ways of working meet business needs and support successful adoption.

The successful candidate will serve as a key bridge between business stakeholders, product teams, software engineers, architects, implementation partners, and support teams. This person will guide the analysis needed to define requirements, document future-state processes, validate delivered capabilities through end user testing, identify system enhancements, and support the creation of end user enablement materials that help the business effectively adopt new solutions.

Why This Role Matters

This role is critical to ensuring that technology transformation is not only delivered but validated from the end user perspective before and through deployment. The Systems Analyst - End User Testing will help the organization define what users need, confirm that delivered solutions support real business workflows, identify enhancements where gaps exist, and equip the business with the materials needed to successfully adopt new capabilities.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with business, product, technology, and operations stakeholders to define and lead the end user testing strategy for major technology transformations.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into business, functional, and technical requirements, product backlog inputs, user stories, backlog-ready work products, and test priorities for delivery teams.
  • Research and evaluate software and hardware options with business and technical partners to identify the most suitable technology solutions for organizational and business-unit needs.
  • Document current-state and future-state business process flows, upstream and downstream integrations, user impacts, operational dependencies, and supporting solution documentation to ensure new systems support business needs and are ready for end user validation.
  • Work closely with product managers, architects, engineers, and implementation teams to ensure solutions are designed and delivered according to defined requirements and aligned with business needs, test readiness, deployment sequencing, and go-live plans.
  • Lead the end user testing function, including test planning, business scenario definition, coordination of test execution, issue tracking, and validation of delivered capabilities against business needs, functional requirements, technical requirements, intended workflows, and key user interactions. Define and execute testing approaches that also evaluate performance, reliability, compliance, and other quality attributes required for successful deployment.
  • Use end user testing results to identify system enhancements, surface gaps in user experience or process execution, and translate findings into backlog-ready recommendations for engineering teams.
  • Support solution documentation updates where testing identifies gaps in process flows, integrations, roles, dependencies, or user interactions.
  • Lead the creation and validation of end user enablement materials, workflows, and user-facing guidance informed by testing outcomes to help teams effectively adopt and use new capabilities.
  • Partner with technical and operational teams to ensure role-based access, workflow ownership, escalation paths, and support models are in place to enable successful testing, rollout, and transition to production use.
  • Assess business impacts, identify readiness and adoption risks, and surface issues in process, support, access, or user experience that could affect successful deployment.
  • Monitor testing outcomes, user feedback, and post-launch performance trends to validate solution fit, support issue resolution, and improve future releases.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in end user testing and systems analysis for technology transformation initiatives, advising teams on requirements, validation approaches, implementation risks, and business readiness needs.
  • Lead highly complex, cross-functional initiatives while delivering high-quality outcomes on time and driving strong execution across stakeholders.
  • Coach and mentor peers and project team members to strengthen systems analysis, stakeholder management, requirements definition, and testing capabilities across the organization.
  • Capture and share lessons learned, repeatable methods, and best practices within the team and across cross-functional partners to improve future transformation efforts.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years in an applicable business or technology environment, including experience in systems analysis, end user testing, enterprise transformation, solution delivery, or related work.
  • Strong systems analysis experience, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, translation of requirements into product backlog inputs, user stories, and backlog-ready work products, process analysis, solution documentation, and validation of solution fit.
  • Experience working closely with business stakeholders, product teams, software engineers, architects, and implementation partners.
  • Experience documenting process flows, integrations, user impacts, and operational dependencies across multiple teams or business units.
  • Experience leading or coordinating end user testing for large-scale technology transformations or enterprise platform implementations.
  • Experience validating delivered solutions through business scenario testing, user validation, issue resolution coordination, feedback loops, and testing approaches that assess performance, reliability, compliance, and other quality attributes.
  • Experience identifying system enhancements from testing outcomes and translating them into actionable recommendations for delivery teams.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to lead complex initiatives, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality outcomes on time.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Master's degree preferred; technical discipline preferred.
  • Experience supporting SaaS platform implementations, enterprise collaboration tools, digital workplace modernization, or AI-enabled workflow transformation.
  • Experience working across global organizations with diverse stakeholder groups and business processes.
  • Experience creating or validating end user guidance, process documentation, or enablement materials tied to system rollout.
  • Familiarity with product backlogs, readiness methodologies, and adoption measurement approaches.
