Job Description:

Job Summary:Perform, approve, and review R&D testing of HVAC products. Support and direct Engineering Technicians during testing in psychometric test chambers. Take on small projects to support the R&D Testing Laboratory.

Essential Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Coordinates with Project Engineers and Lab Technicians to determine correct course of action for testing.
  • Provides complete bill of materials by defining when, where, and why parts are utilized during testing and rework.
  • Reviews test plans to ensure design are met.
  • Ensures equipment and parts for testing and rework are available to maintain testing schedule
  • Work with the Lab Technicians to ensure that test units are complete and ready to test as needed
  • Coordinates testing of HVAC equipment in various test setups and psychrometric chambers
  • Works with Lab Operations to ensure that the test chamber and equipment are functioning properly and are in calibration.
  • Work with Lab Technicians to ensure testing is performed to the proper standards.
  • Ensure that data produced is valid for the evaluation of the tested product or component.
  • Runs small, short-term projects independently.
  • Handles multiple tasks simultaneously under the guidance of more experienced Engineers and/or Management.
  • Analyzes test data to determine the product meets defined requirements DOE, ASHRAE, ASME, ISO, ASHARAE, and other standards
Job Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

Four-year ABET accredited degree in Engineering or equivalent technical degree in Applied Sciences.

Minimum of 1-2 years in the HVAC industry or equivalent experience in a similar industry.

License(s):EPA 608

  • Lift up to 50lbs.
  • Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours.
  • Periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
