Job description

Description The Testing Assistant is an integral part of the Testing Center providing support for the administration of tests to the RCSJ college community and beyond. The Testing Assistant duties will include scheduling, registering, maintaining records and administering tests including but not limited to: ACCUPLACER, HESI, TEAS, ACT, NICET, DSST and CLEP. Examples of Duties Provides clear instructions to all test participants and ascertains that the candidate understands what is expected of them for all standardized computer testing.

Interprets individual test results and advises students after placement tests. Responsible for proctoring Academic Makeup Tests for students missing a test in class making sure students and instructors are aware of instructions. Provides excellent customer service skills to a wide variety of staff, faculty and external clients as well as to approximately 9,000 test takers each year.

Facilitates testing by surveillance and monitoring of the test takers. Handles test inquiries and scheduling appointments. Organizes and files daily test sign-ins and report copies.

Maintains test security at all times- Secures test, records and reports. Confers with Administrator of Testing Services, Coordinator Testing Services and Coordinator of Testing Center Computer Technologies regarding schedules for testing appointments. Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Demonstrate ability to work well with individuals and the Testing Center team. Organized and expresses thoughts clearly and concisely in writing and verbally. Navigate through computerized testing screens and college database systems.

Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma accepted, associate degree preferred One to three years of experience in an office setting Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Willingness to work flexible schedule, available to work nights and weekends Demonstrated ability to work well with individuals and the Testing Center team Good organizational skills; able to express thoughts clearly and concisely Supplemental Information **THIS POSITION IS NOT OPEN TO CURRENT RCSJ STUDENTS** The rate of pay for this position is New Jersey Minimum Wage Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer As a New Jersey First Act Employer, new employees must establish a primary residence in New Jersey within one year unless an exemption applies.
