Test Technician

Brookfield, WI

The present company was formed in 1959 when the Magnethermic Corporation acquired the assets of Ajax Electrothermic Corp. combining their expertise and capabilities.

Position Summary:

The Test Technician is responsible for the inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical and electromechanical products to ensure compliance with quality and performance standards. This role performs functional testing, diagnostics, and problem resolution on products ranging from subassemblies to fully integrated systems. The position requires strong technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, attention to detail, and the ability to safely work with high voltage and current equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Job Duties:

- Perform inspection and functional testing of electrical subassemblies, units, fixtures, and completed systems

- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues to the component level

- Diagnose malfunctions, identify root causes, and determine corrective actions

- Repair circuit boards and support product rework activities as needed

- Verify products meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and performance requirements

- Interpret blueprints, schematics, bills of materials, and technical documentation

- Use electrical testing equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators

- Work safely with high voltage and high current systems during testing and inspection processes

- Resolve inspection and testing issues encountered during production

- Provide technical troubleshooting support to customers over the phone as needed

- Support occasional off-site service or customer support calls

- Maintain accurate testing documentation and records

- Follow all safety, housekeeping, and quality procedures

What you need to be successful:

- Experience in electrical, electronics, or electromechanical testing/troubleshooting

- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical principles

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications

- Experience using electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools

- Computer proficiency and ability to work with testing documentation and systems

- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills

- Ability to work independently and make sound technical judgments

- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
