Job description

Job Title: Campus Independent Study Monitor

 

Duty Days: 185

 

Pay Grade: C04

 

STARTING SALARY: $129.26/DAY 

   

Primary Purpose:

 
  • Supervision of students who have been referred to on campus suspension from classes.
 

Qualifications:

   

Education/ Certification:

 
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate
  • ParaPro Exam or PAC Test (No Chidl Left Behind) / 48 College Hours
  • Bilingual Test (if applicable)
 

Special Knowledge/ Skills:

 
  •  Ability to maintain a strictly enforced quiet environment
 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

 
  1. Upon receiving a student referred to ISS/ISC, immediately assign appropriate seating and administer work assignments
  2. Maintain a silent environment in which students remain seated where assigned
  3. Monitor student progress to maintain on-task performance while in ISS/ISC
  4. Supervise restroom breaks (ISS/ISC students take two common breaks throughout the day aside from lunch)
  5. Order the appropriate number of lunches from the cafeteria before the daily deadline
  6. Supervise the distribution of the lunches and monitor the lunch break and administer the cleanup
  7. Monitor the overall daily cleanliness of the room and of individual student seats and work materials to prevent any type of vandalism, graffiti, or other destruction
  8. Refer any problems to the immediate attention of an assistant principal. Upon completion of the required period of referral to ISS/ISC provide an admit back to class
  9. Perform other duties as may be assigned on days when ISS/ISC may not be in operation
