La personne retenue devra travailler sur place au moins 4 jours par semaine

Responsabilites principales:

  • Dans le cadre de ce poste, le titulaire formulera des recommandations et exercera une influence sur la verification et la validation du systeme LEO de Telesat.
  • Developper des matrices de verification du systeme et des sous-systemes en fonction des exigences du systeme.
  • Coordonner et participer aux activites d'essais au niveau du systeme, y compris la planification d'essai, l'execution et la production
  • Agir a titre d'expert(e) en communications par satellite (SATCOM) ou en reseaux et soutenir les autres membres du personnel technique au besoin
  • Developper et tenir a jour les cas d'essai ainsi que les bancs d'essai requis pour divers cas d'essai.
  • Effectuer des essais pratiques au laboratoire LEO pour diverses fonctionnalites de chemin de donnees et de routage.
  • Collaborer avec d'autres segments tels que DevOps, les systemes au sol et les satellites, et favoriser un environnement collaboratif et innovant.
  • Jouer un role actif dans la conception des composants et des sous-systemes ainsi que dans les activites d'essai.
  • Configurer l'equipement d'essai, notamment les emulateurs de liaison par satellite, les generateurs de signaux, les analyseurs de spectre et les generateurs de trafic.
  • S'assurer que le produit teste repond aux exigences techniques, fonctionnelles, de performance et d'affaires.
  • Travailler avec divers fournisseurs de composants d'antenne, de modem ou de RF pour appuyer les revisions du cahier des charges (SOW), des specifications de reception (SRR), des exigences d'essai, des plans d'essai, des resultats d'essai et des revisions RVTM, en plus d'assurer le suivi de l'integration de l'antenne avec les autres composants (modem et autres interfaces).
  • Collaborer avec les autres segments pour appuyer l'elaboration des plans d'essai internes et des methodes de verification.
  • Appuyer la planification et les activites de test Over The Air (OTA), y compris les processus d'automatisation des tests.
  • Appuyer les activites de planification de l'acceptation du systeme pour les phases LEOP et IOT.
 
Formation et experience requises :
 
  • Baccalaureat en genie electrique, en genie informatique ou en genie des systemes, et au moins 15 ans d'experience pertinente en communications par satellite
  • Au moins 5 ans d'experience professionnelle avec differents types d'antennes, telles que les antennes a panneau plat, les antennes paraboliques et les antennes aeronautiques (bande Ka de preference)
  • Au moins 5 ans d'experience professionnelle dans les systemes de communication RF par satellite, avec une connaissance solide des techniques de modulation et de codage utilisees dans les normes modernes telles que DVB-S2(X) et DVB-RCS2
  • Comprehension solide des principes d'ingenierie RF et des pratiques de conception
  • Experience pratique avec des equipements de test RF (oscilloscopes, generateurs de signaux, analyseurs de spectre, et les emulateurs de canal satellitaire)

  • Experience en analyse de budget de liaison par satellite, avec une bonne comprehension des effets des perturbations sur la performance de la liaison

The successful candidate will issue recommendations and have influence on the system verification and validation of the Telesat Lightspeed system.

Resource is expected to be working onsite a minimum of 4 days per week

Main Responsibilities:

  • In this role, the incumbent will issue recommendations and have influence on the system verification and validation of the Telesat LEO system.
  • Develop system and sub system verification matrices against system requirements.
  • Coordinate and participate in system level testing activities including test planning, execution and reporting
  • Serve as a SATCOM or Networking SME and support other technical staff as required
  • Develop/maintain test cases, test beds required for various Test cases.
  • Hands on testing in the LEO Lab for various data path and routing features.
  • Work with other segments like DevOps, Ground Systems, Satellite and foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Plays an active role in component and subsystem design and test activities
  • Configuring test equipment like Satellite Link Emulators, signal generator, spectrum analyzer and traffic generators.
  • Ensure product under test meets technical, functional, performance and business requirements.
  • Work with various Antenna, Modem or RF components Vendors to support the SOW, SRR, Test Requirements, Test Plans,
  • Test Results and RVTM reviews, in addition to follow up on the integrate of the Antenna with the other components (Modem, and other interfaces).
  • Work with the other segments to support the development of the internal Test Plans and verification methods.
  • Support Over The Air (OTA) Test Planning and activities including the Test automation processes.
  • Support System Acceptance Planning activities for the LEOP and IOT.
 
Education & Experience Required:
 
 
  • B. Sc. in Electrical, Computer or System Engineering and a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in satellite communications
  • 5+ years of work experience in different antenna types like Flat Panel Antenna, Parabolic and Aero Antenna (Ka band preferable)
  • 5+ years of work experience in Satellite RF communication systems with strong exposure on modulation and coding used in modern standards like DVB-S2(X) and DVB-RCS2
  • Strong understanding of RF engineering Principles and Design Practices
    Hands on experience using RF test equipment (Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, satellite channel emulator)
  • Demonstrated understanding of air interfaces, modem technologies, modulation and coding and its impact on the satellite link performance
  • Experience with satellite link budget analyses with good understanding of effects of impairments on the link performance
  • Experience in test case and defect tracking tools (Jira, Jama)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management, engineering teams and partners / suppliers.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Experience with different Ka band antenna vendors
  • Experience with Flat Panel Antenna and Aero Antenna (Ka band preferable)
  • Experience with BUC/LNB and various Antenna technologies
  • Experience in Satellite RF communication systems and modern standards like DVB-S2(X) and DVB-RCS2
  • Experience in Planning activities for the LEOP and IOT.
