Job Description: Test Manager - Quality Engineering

A highly motivated and experienced Test Manager to lead Quality Engineering initiatives across enterprise applications, digital platforms, customer-facing solutions, and operational systems. This role is responsible for defining quality strategy, leading QE teams, managing testing programs, driving automation adoption, and ensuring successful delivery of high-quality solutions.


The Test Manager will partner closely with Product Managers, Business Stakeholders, Development Teams, Program Managers, and Vendor Partners to establish quality as a shared responsibility throughout the software delivery lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

Quality Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and execute Quality Engineering strategies aligned with business objectives and technology roadmaps.
  • Establish quality standards, testing methodologies, governance processes, and release readiness criteria.
  • Drive shift-left testing practices and continuous quality improvements across programs.
  • Develop quality metrics and dashboards to provide transparency into testing progress, risks, and product quality.

Test Management & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end testing activities for multiple concurrent projects and releases.
  • Develop test plans, test strategies, resource plans, schedules, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Ensure adequate functional, integration, system, regression, end-to-end, and UAT support coverage.
  • Manage defect lifecycle processes and facilitate defect triage meetings.
  • Provide quality sign-offs and release recommendations to stakeholders.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor QE Leads, Automation Engineers, and Test Engineers.
  • Support resource planning, onboarding, performance management, and career development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Coordinate activities across onsite, offshore, and vendor teams.

Automation & Continuous Testing

  • Drive automation-first testing strategies across applications and services.
  • Partner with engineering teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Promote test automation frameworks, reusable assets, and engineering best practices.
  • Track and improve automation coverage, execution efficiency, and defect prevention metrics.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Collaborate with business, product, architecture, and engineering leaders.
  • Communicate testing progress, quality risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure contractual deliverables meet quality expectations.
  • Facilitate governance reviews and executive status reporting.

Risk & Compliance Management

  • Identify quality risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards, controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support production validation, incident root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in Software Testing and Quality Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience managing QE/Test teams in enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Engineering principles, test management, and defect lifecycle management.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks, API testing, and end-to-end testing strategies.
  • Experience validating web, mobile, API, and enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based environments, system integrations, and modern software architectures.
  • Ability to analyze quality metrics, identify risks, and drive data-driven quality improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies.
  • Experience leading testing efforts for large-scale enterprise applications and integrations.
  • Proven track record in test planning, execution management, defect management, and release governance.
