We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Test Engineer (PTE) to join our Hardware Integration Center (HWIC) Value Stream team, supporting production testing on complex radar systems. In this dynamic and visible role, you will leverage your technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and collaborative skills to ensure the seamless execution of test processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.  You will play a key role in ensuring rigorous testing processes and delivering high-quality, reliable products that meet the standards and expectations of our end customers.

This is a 3rd shift onsite role which includes a shift premium of 12%.

What You Will Do

  • Provide test engineering support in a dynamic and fast-paced production environment.

  • Troubleshoot complex radar and array level issues on the production floor.

  • Work from schematics and drawings to interpret RF faults and troubleshoot utilizing common test equipment such as Network Analyzer’s, Oscilloscopes, Power Meter’s and Spectrum Analyzer’s.

  • Perform root cause analysis on systemic radar issues and flow back to feeder areas and/or suppliers to help in the troubleshooting of failed subassemblies.

  • Work diligently with union technicians on a daily basis throughout the test process.

  • Interacts daily with operations, quality, process/mechanical, and production control (PC) regarding most urgent immediate needs in test.

  • Review system level test data for compliance toward specifications.

  • Interact with maintenance/test department to keep test stations fully functional.

  • Develop/update factory test procedures as needed.

  • Overtime (paid) may be required on an as needed basis.

Qualification You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience. 

  • (1) year of integration and/or test experience

  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, systems, and equipment.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience in aerospace or defense testing environments.

  • Demonstrated hands-on electronics aptitude.

  • Prior experience testing complex radar systems is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret failing test data and navigate schematic diagrams to diagnose fault modes.

  • Ability to understand radar systems technology in the areas of test and analysis.

  • Strong working knowledge of RF test equipment.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
