What We Need
Kymeta is seeking an exceptional Automation Test Engineer II with strong software expertise, focused on building innovative and scalable manufacturing test solutions for next-generation products and production systems. The role requires close collaboration within a cross-disciplinary team to develop and execute acceptance test procedures and test strategies, implemented through the Kymeta Test Framework and reusable toolsets.
The candidate is expected to contribute to development planning and test solution design with a disciplined, quality-driven approach, leveraging modern software practices. In addition, this role will support the advancement of next-generation production technologies and manufacturing platforms.
While RF and Electrical Engineering knowledge is not required, it is highly valued due to its relevance to Kymeta products. Candidates must possess solid software development fundamental. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can operate effectively in ambiguous environments, drive clarity, and deliver robust, production-ready solutions.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain high-quality automated test solutions and supporting software, and visual aids for manufacturing and production environments.
  • Design, implement, and execute Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) using the Kymeta Test Framework and reusable toolsets.
  • Define test strategies, including functional, regression, and performance testing, to ensure product quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., systems, hardware, software, and product) throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Apply software development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices to ensure scalable, maintainable, and robust test solutions.
  • Identify, analyze, and track defects using defect management systems; drive root cause analysis and verify corrective actions.
  • Analyze test results, identify trends, and provide clear, actionable test reports and recommendations.
  • Review and assess system and software requirements for completeness, clarity, and testability.
  • Train test technicians.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, test coverage, and test automation efficiency.
  • Support development and integration of next-generation production technologies and test capabilities.
SKILLS

  • Familiarity with electrical engineering fundamentals for board bring-up (e.g., schematic interpretation, timing analysis).
  • Strong foundation in advanced mathematics, including statistics, inferential analysis, and linear regression.
  • Practical experience in signal processing.
  • Hands-on experience with agentic AI.
EXPERIENCE
  • 2+ years of experience in production environments, preferably in manufacturing engineering and systems integration.
  • 1+ year of experience developing Acceptance Test Procedures and test solutions for RF systems.
  • 2+ years of software engineering experience using C# and/or Python with an object-oriented programming focus.
  • 1+ year of experience working with RESTful interfaces and tools such as curl.
  • 1+ year of experience with scripting languages such as Batch/PowerShell and Bash.
  • 1+ year of experience in application performance profiling and characterization.
  • Proven track record of delivering and releasing production-ready test solutions.
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (e.g., Mathematics, Physics)
COMPENSATION
Kymeta is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In the spirit of pay transparency, we have determined the salary range for this position to be $100,000- $160,000. This is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would be atypical, in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. Compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and geography. The total compensation package for this position includes an annual target bonus of 10%, stock options, and benefits listed below. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
