Job description

Test Automation Engineer
Summary

Our client is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to support the modernization of their Licensing application.  The work is heavily weighted toward API and services testing with UI automation as a secondary focus.  This engineer will be paired with a senior tester on an established Scrum team working alongside developers and a product owner.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated API and service tests using Cucumber with REST-Assured and/or Karate.
  • Build and enhance automation within existing frameworks using Java and JavaScript.
  • Validate data across systems through direct SQL querying.
  • Execute and maintain automated tests within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Analyze results, identify defects, and log issues in Jira.
Requirements
  • Experience in QA with a strong API test automation focus including BDD practices using Cucumber with REST-Assured or Karate.
  • Extensive programming experience in Java or another JVM language, plus JavaScript.
  • Strong SQL skills including writing queries and validating data across tables.
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, Web services, and microservices testing with production experience using Git.
  • Experience working on cross-functional Agile teams
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
Preferred
  • UI automation experience working with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
  • Experience with AWS or other Cloud technologies.
  • Experience testing highly regulated or rules-driven applications.
