Job description

Tesoro Group is seeking an experienced Roving Carpenter to join on of our clients team in Minneapolis-St. Paul Metro and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years’ in carpentry experience within millwork, cabinets, door and window framing. The ideal candidate will have experience with cabinet setting, trim, crown molding, and stair railings. The candidate will also have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (Truck or Van) as well as their own basic tools as this role is roving to multiple locations. This is a contract to hire role (6 months before conversion).

Salary: $33.50-$39.00/hour DOQ.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 7am – 330pm. This role will be working in the client’s corporate office in Plymouth as well as roving to properties or project sites.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Measure, mark, and prepare materials to ensure accurate construction and installation.
• Cut, shape, and assemble materials such as wood, drywall, fiberglass, and other building components.
• Construct and install structural elements including walls, floors, door frames, window frames, and partitions.
• Install interior and exterior finishing components such as trim, molding, cabinetry, and siding.
• Safely operate and maintain hand tools and power tools including saws, drills, sanders, levels, and nail guns.
• Fasten materials using nails, screws, adhesives, or other appropriate methods.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and project requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting materials and equipment.
• Follow all company safety policies and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist with general job site cleanup and maintenance.

• Assist with repair, remodeling, and minor demolition tasks as needed.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to support project completion.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ carpentry experience - framing/trimming - Experience doing cabinet setting, trim, crown molding, stair railings is required.
  • Ability to lift 30-50 lbs repeatedly.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation as this role is roving to multiple locations.
  • Be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
  • Be able to use personal cell phone for taking photos and documentation while at job sites.
  • Must have a truck or van, and all your own basic tools plus miter box and nail guns.
