Level 3 Autonomous Vehicle Operator

Location: San Francisco, CA
Pay: $29.00/hour
Schedule: Full-Time
Contract Length: Through 05/18/2026
Work Environment: On-site

OVERVIEW

We are seeking experienced, safety-focused Level 3 Autonomous Vehicle Operators to support real-world autonomous vehicle operations and testing in San Francisco, CA.

This role is ideal for candidates with strong driving discipline, operational awareness, technical adaptability, and experience working in fast-paced testing or field operations environments. Operators will support vehicle testing, data collection, safety monitoring, reporting, and vehicle readiness while working closely with engineering and operations teams.

This position offers hands-on exposure to cutting-edge autonomous vehicle technology and the opportunity to contribute directly to the future of mobility.

SHIFT OPTIONS

Day Shifts:
• 5:45 AM – 2:15 PM
• 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
• 7:45 AM – 4:15 PM

Night Shifts:
• 1:45 PM – 10:15 PM
• 2:45 PM – 11:15 PM
• 3:45 PM – 12:15 AM
• 5:45 PM – 2:00 AM

Schedule Options:
• Wednesday – Sunday
• Thursday – Monday
• Friday – Tuesday
• Saturday – Wednesday

Additional Pay:
• Weekend shifts: +5% hourly bonus
• Night shifts starting after 1 PM: +2% hourly bonus
• Weekend night shifts eligible for up to +7% total bonus pay

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely operate autonomous vehicles in both manual and autonomous driving modes
• Drive 4–8 hours daily while maintaining constant situational awareness
• Support vehicle testing, operational missions, and data collection activities
• Conduct vehicle readiness inspections and preventative maintenance checks
• Perform basic software operation and troubleshooting tasks
• Document observations, incidents, disengagements, and operational feedback accurately
• Communicate professionally with engineering, operations, and logistics teams
• Support vehicle logistics, charging, movement, storage, and maintenance coordination
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment
• Remain alert, distraction-free, and prepared to react quickly to changing road conditions

REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and evenings

• Autonomous vehicle operations or safety driver experience
• Fleet operations, logistics, or field operations experience
• Technical support, IT, Linux, or command-line experience
• Military, law enforcement, security, aviation, or safety-sensitive operational experience
• Experience supporting vehicle testing, QA testing, robotics, or data collection operations
• Prior experience with Waymo, Zoox, Nuro, Cruise, Motional, NVIDIA, Tesla, Lucid, Applied Intuition, Uber ATG, or similar AV programs
