Job description

CT Disposition Technician

The Computed Tomography (CT) Disposition Technician plays a critical role in the diagnostic imaging of cells in cell manufacturing. Disposition technicians spend a majority of their time focusing on the operation of CT equipment and analysis of captured high-quality images. They spend time managing the efficient disposition of Tesla cells, including image analysis, Jira management, document archiving, reporting, and coordination of engineering follow-up. This position ensures seamless workflow from post-scanning through post-analysis processing, supporting engineering, leadership, and production teams in accurate analysis and dispositioning of images from CT scanning. The technician must prioritize safety, adhere to safety protocols, and maintain compliance with Tesla regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Operate CT scanners to perform imaging procedures, including positioning cells accurately and selecting appropriate processes (CT-9 or CT-11)
  • Review as applicable cell history, verify engineering orders, and analyze scans for anomalies, explaining procedures and processes to stakeholders and interested parties, screening for electrode issues that can cause shorting or thermal runaway, and obtaining feedback as necessary
  • Process and archive CT images using Jira, SharePoint, ION, and other databases as necessary), ensuring proper labeling, quality checks, and timely disposition to stakeholders and leadership for interpretation
  • Document cell disposition post-scan and post-disposition, including updating electronic records with scan results, coordinating with logistics, engineering and production teams for next steps (e.g., scrap, send to DPA for further testing, etc.), and flagging any urgent findings
  • Perform routine quality control and maintenance on CT equipment, calibrating systems and troubleshooting minor issues to minimize downtime
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including external Tesla CT teams, engineering support, and CODEX and ION database support, to facilitate efficient disposition operations and resolve any imaging-related discrepancies
Requirements
  • Level 2 Quality Technician or higher with prior Tesla CT experience preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience with quality systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with ISO-9000, ISO/TS 16949, FMEA, DFMEA, and PFMEA preferred and a strong aptitude with Nikon CT operations
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices, 5S, TPS, and TQM highly desired
  • Strong command of the English language, Both written and verbal

Essential Physical Demands:

  • Be both capable and willing to perform all the various manual tasks involved with lab work, such as safely moving heavy objects, moving large pallets with a pallet jack, handling incoming materials, etc.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs., along with repetitive pushing, lifting and pulling
