Job description

What to Expect

Tesla is seeking an Engineering Process Technician to join our Electrode Production Engineering team. You will contribute to the foundation of this new process technology, supporting both process development and equipment improvements. A strong drive to learn new skills and acquire knowledge will enhance your ability to support production operations while your flexibility and communication skills will enhance your ability to be a team player.

Shift: 07:00AM - 07:00PM; Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Wednesday

What You'll Do
  • 3+ years of experience in a pilot or production setting, including root cause analysis and problem resolution in a high-volume, dynamic environment
  • Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Experience interpreting SPC, Process Capability and Gauge R&R
  • Knowledge in SQL, Python and Jupyter Notebook is a plus
  • Knowledge in basic material fabrication (3 axis mill, lathe, etc.) is a plus
  • Knowledge in CAD and GD&T is a plus
What You'll Bring
  • Partner with Production Engineers to ensure safe and efficient operation of production lines, maintaining high-quality output. Proactively identify and resolve issues, propose effective solutions, and drive engineering improvements to achieve and exceed production targets
  • Operate and troubleshoot manufacturing processes through SPC or other data analysis
  • Write and update Manufacturing Instructions
  • Escalate issues to shift supervisor/manager and quality team when necessary
  • Support engineering activities including process and equipment validations
  • Train and provide leadership for associates on equipment operation and processes
Essential Physical Demands
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
  • Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
  • Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach
  • Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
  • Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, or hearing
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: PAPR, safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
  • Adhere to company policies of safety and conduct

Expected Compensation $28.75 - $42.73/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
