Job description

Job Summary:
Tesla is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to join their global EHS&S data team. In this role, you will build and scale solutions to support Tesla's Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security goals by managing data pipelines and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance reporting and analytics.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with stakeholders to frame and solve business challenges, identify key opportunities, and take ideas from design to production
• Ensure safe, secure, compliant, documented, and trusted data by implementing high standards
• Develop, manage, and optimize data pipelines, warehousing, orchestration, and overall end-to-end infrastructure
• Create and refine dimensional data models that enable powerful reporting and analytics
• Explore new tools, frameworks, and technologies to keep our data platform cutting-edge
• Review code, mentor teammates, and help raise the bar on engineering/AI best practices across the team
Qualifications:
Required:
• 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data analytics, data modelling, and data management
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or equivalent experience
• Open-minded, collaborative, and team-oriented attitude with the ability to think outside the box
• Ability to effectively communicate concepts and strategies to technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills to work independently and focused
• Knowledgeable and comfortable in Git, Python, SQL and dbt, APIs, Data Orchestration (i.e., Airflow), Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD, Data Quality (e.g., soda.io), and Modern Data Warehousing
Preferred:
• Experience with Power BI
• Eagerness to learn about novel ways to make impact in the environmental, health, safety, and security domain; existing knowledge is a plus
