Veterinary Technician, Emergency

Location: Monroeville

Schedule: Full Time | Varying Shifts Available | 3 Twelve or 4 Ten Hour Shifts Per Week

Compensation: $18-32/hr | Applicable Shift Differentials- Overnights + $4/hr from 17p,-7am Every Night,  Weekends + $2.50/hr from 12am Saturdays through 12am on Mondays | Larger Of The Two Is Paid, Differentials Do Not Stack

In Your Day-To-Day, You Will:

  • Support the health and wellbeing of pets by performing proficient patient triage, speedy trauma assessments, extensive diagnostics, emergency patient stabilization, and in-depth patient care

  • Utilize your technical skill sets by executing tasks such as restraint, phlebotomy, catheter placement, general nursing care, drug calculations from fluid rates to CRIs, in addition to monitoring general anesthesia and more!

  • Work closely with veterinarians, veterinary technicians and support teams

  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture

What You Bring: 

  • Veterinary Technician License (LVT, CVT, or RVT) preferred, but not required

  • Foundational veterinary knowledge, including patient restraint, triage, imaging, laboratory skills, and venipuncture.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to stay calm and organized under pressure.

  • Provide excellent customer service and interact with clients in a manner that supports Avets' mission to provide state of the art medicine and compassionate care for pets and the people who love them.

  • Work with fellow team members to maintain a productive, positive and respectful environment. All technical staff, regardless of the level of experience, must be able to stand, bend, lift, and/or kneel for the duration of a shift (12 hours), and lift a minimum of twenty five pounds.

  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus.
