Job description

This is a remote role within the United States. US work authorization is required.

About VIATechnik:

VIATechnik is the global leader in Virtual Design and Construction. We have over 400 digital experts around the globe. The firm's services include Virtual Design & Construction (VDC), Building Information Modeling (BIM), Virtual & Augmented Reality, Digital Twins, and Enterprise Software Application Development.

We work on some of the industry's largest and most interesting projects such as Apple's new headquarters, Virgin Hyperloop One, Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) modernization & expansions, Denver International Airport, Chicago O'Hare International Airport, Hudson Yards, the Atlanta Falcons Stadium, Chase Arena, the Tesla Gigafactory and many more. Our team is made up of leading VDC professionals, technologists, architects, and engineers who have a passion for solving problems and a thirst for learning. We are results-driven, creative solution finders and enjoy putting ourselves in our clients' shoes.

Build the Electrical Models That Prevent Problems Before They Hit the Field

This is not a production-only VDC role.

VIATechnik is looking for a Senior VDC Engineer who wants to lead complex electrical BIM/VDC projects end-to-end-owning model quality, guiding global teams, and working directly with electrical subcontractor clients to solve real constructability challenges before construction begins.

In this role, you'll operate as both a technical authority and trusted client partner, translating incomplete or ambiguous design information into coordinated, buildable electrical models that align with schedule, budget, and field execution. You'll work across commercial and industrial projects in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment where VDC is treated as a strategic advantage-not a downstream service.

Why This Is a Career Move

Top performers in this role don't just "do BIM"-they shape how electrical VDC gets delivered. You'll gain:

  • Ownership of complex, high-impact electrical VDC projects
  • Direct client-facing leadership and decision-making responsibility
  • Experience leading and scaling global modeling teams
  • The opportunity to influence standards, workflows, and best practices across an industry-leading organization
  • Exposure to advanced digital tools and evolving BIM/VDC workflows that accelerate professional growth

For a growth-minded VDC engineer, this role offers increasing scope, visibility, and influence-not just more projects.

What You'll Be Accountable For

Within your first year, success looks like this:

  • Delivering coordinated, constructible electrical models that prevent downstream field issues and reduce rework
  • Leading global modeling teams with clear scope, strong quality control, and predictable delivery
  • Running coordination conversations with confidence, resolving clashes and managing ambiguity under schedule pressure
  • Earning repeat client trust by positioning VDC as a value-driver, not a checkbox
  • Improving how work gets done, through better workflows, smarter tool usage, and shared best practices

Top performers are known for anticipating problems early, raising quality standards, and making projects easier for everyone downstream.

Who Thrives Here

This role is a strong fit if you:

  • Take ownership and don't wait for perfect information
  • Enjoy leading without needing formal authority
  • Are comfortable working with remote and global teams
  • Like balancing technical depth with communication and client trust
  • Want to keep raising the bar-for yourself and the work

Win-Win Hiring

This is a win-win when you grow into a recognized technical and client leader delivering high-impact electrical VDC work-and VIATechnik gains a trusted expert who elevates quality, client satisfaction, and innovation across its VDC practice.

Compensation and featured benefits:

  • The pay for this position is $90,000 – $110,000, and the role is eligible for bonuses. The actual salary offer may be different as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, location, and experience
  • Health insurance with the choice of five plan options. We cover 70-95% of premiums for VIATechies and 65% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plan chosen)
  • Dental and vision insurance. We cover up to 75% of the monthly insurance premiums for VIATechies and up to 50% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plans chosen)
  • Open and flexible time off
  • A 401(k) plan that is fully vested immediately
  • Home office setup costs
  • Paid holidays

As a minority and woman owned and led company, VIATechnik seeks to build a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. VIATechnik is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment.
