Job description

Job Summary:
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Program/Product Manager to join their rapidly growing Energy sector. The role involves leading the planning and execution of complex AI product deliveries while ensuring effective collaboration among engineering teams and maintaining high product quality standards.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex software development projects, from inception to launch.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration between firmware, software, service engineering, and applications engineering teams to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the program’s lifecycle.
• Leverage your software engineering or technical background to understand engineering challenges, contribute to technical discussions, and effectively communicate with engineering teams.
• Establish and enforce software development standards, code review processes, and release criteria across engineering teams to ensure consistent product quality, compliance with internal policies, and readiness for production deployment.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance project efficiency, quality, and predictability.
• Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks and roadblocks, escalating issues as needed and developing contingency plans.
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and provide regular updates to stakeholders, including Directors and VPs on project status, risks, and dependencies.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Degree in Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in technical program management, preferably in a software development or technical program environment
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies and software development lifecycles; hands-on frontend or backend software engineering experience is a significant advantage
• Sound judgement in identifying appropriate use cases for AI solutions while recognizing technical limitations and constraints
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, including the ability to be clear and concise
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including knowledge of SQL and basic table structures
• Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Microsoft ThinkCell)
• Familiarity with Github and ability to write code
