Job description

Overview
We are currently hiring General Laborers to support our operations. This is a great opportunity for a dependable, hands-on individual responsible for performing basic labor tasks in support of terminal & stevedoring operations. Employees in this role are expected to carry out routine duties under close supervision, with increasing independence as they gain experience and familiarity with operational procedures. Learning basic tasks such as equipment handling, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures. Focused on developing foundational skills and understanding of work processes.

Responsibilities
What your day looks like as a General Laborer:
  • Prepare cargo for loading/unloading
  • Follow loading plans
  • Operate small equipment as instructed
  • General housekeeping duties to maintain a safe work environment
  • Heavy lifting duties
  • Observe all safety rules and use good safety work habits.

Qualifications
What we're looking for:
  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Willingness to work in outdoor and marine environments under varying weather conditions
  • Ability to perform manual labor including lift 50 lbs regularly throughout a shift, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and safety protocols
  • Working at heights, within enclosed spaes, in noisy environments with moving equipment, and in adverse climatic conditions.
  • Informing the supervisor of damaged or unsafe cargo.
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Able to present information in one-on-one group situations with fellow employees and customers.
  • Must have valid driver's license and ability to obtain a TWIC card.
