Class A CDL Driver – Port Drayage (Local / Home Daily)

Company: Redefined Transportation Inc.
Location: Long Beach, CA – Servicing the Ports of Los Angeles & Long Beach

Compensation: Hourly or Per-Move Pay Options Available

Established in 2015, Redefined Transportation is a family-operated drayage provider with over 25 years of combined management experience handling import and export logistics through the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.

We pride ourselves on maintaining a strong safety record, operating modern, eco-friendly clean trucks, and using technology to keep our dispatch and terminal operations efficient.

If you are an experienced Class A CDL driver looking for steady port work, local routes, and consistent home time, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Execute local import/export drayage moves from the LA/LB port terminals to rail ramps, warehouses, storage facilities, and customer locations.
  • Pick up and return loaded and empty containers as assigned.
  • Use our digital Terminal Management System for paperless dispatch, digital signatures, and load tracking.
  • Maintain safe operation of company equipment and properly handle containerized loads.
  • Communicate with dispatch regarding terminal delays, appointments, equipment issues, and delivery status.
  • Maintain compliance with company safety policies and DOT/FMCSA requirements.

Compensation – Choose the Pay Structure That Works for You

Qualified drivers may be offered one of two compensation structures:

Option 1 – Hourly Pay
$23.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on verifiable experience, port experience, qualifications, and driving record.

Option 2 – Per-Move Pay
Drivers may elect to be paid based on completed moves according to Redefined Transportation's Driver Rate Sheet.

Per-move compensation varies based on the type of move, destination, mileage, and other applicable work performed. The applicable rate sheet will be provided and reviewed with qualified candidates before accepting the position.

Our goal is to provide experienced drivers with a compensation structure that best fits the way they prefer to work.

Job Requirements

License: Valid Class A CDL.

Port Experience: Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience working the Los Angeles/Long Beach ports and hauling intermodal containers.

Credentials: Valid and current TWIC Card required.

Driving Record: Clean and acceptable MVR with a demonstrated history of safe commercial driving.

Equipment Experience: Experience operating Class 8 tractor-trailers and hauling container chassis.

Technology: Comfortable using smartphone or tablet applications for dispatch, routing, load status, and electronic documentation.

Compliance: Must be able to meet all applicable DOT/FMCSA qualification and Hours of Service requirements.
