Grain Terminal Operations Specialist

Company: Express Employment

Where: Rochelle, IL

Pay: $18–$23/hour

Role overview

Keep grain moving, safe, and accounted for. As a key operator at a grain terminal, you’ll ensure smooth receiving, storage, quality control, and loadout—while maintaining a clean, safe, and well-documented operation.

What you’ll tackle
  • Receive, load, unload, transfer, and store grain efficiently
  • Run conveyors, legs, and grain dryers to manage product flow
  • Measure bin levels; monitor grain condition and report issues
  • Perform housekeeping of bins, storage areas, and facility grounds
  • Conduct basic maintenance and preventative repairs
  • Adhere to OSHA and all site safety procedures
  • Complete all required documentation and logs accurately
Bring these qualifications
  • Grain elevator experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Mechanical aptitude; electrical or hydraulic exposure a plus
  • Equipment familiarity (forklift, skid loader, etc.) preferred
  • Comfort working at heights up to 200 ft
  • Ability to work in heat, cold, dusty conditions, and confined spaces
  • Physical capacity to lift, climb, bend, and shovel
