From providing a warm welcome upon arrival to assisting with luggage, offering property information, and ensuring smooth departures, the Bell Person helps set the tone for exceptional service throughout each guest's stay. Job Summary:
The Bell Person is responsible for delivering outstanding guest service by assisting with luggage, providing directions and information about the property and local area, and supporting the front office team in ensuring seamless arrivals and departures. This role requires strong communication skills, a helpful attitude, and a proactive approach to guest needs, all while upholding the highest standards of service and professionalism.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Transfer luggage, trunks, and packages to and from rooms, loading areas, vehicles, or transportation terminals, by hand or using baggage carts.
  • Greet incoming guests and escort them to their rooms.
  • Receive and mark baggage by completing and attaching claim checks.
  • Supply guests or travelers with directions, travel information, and other information, such as available services and points of interest.
  • Ensure that guest room access is secure.
  • Assist physically challenged travelers and other guests with special needs.
  • Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Answer the departmental telephone within 3 rings, using correct salutations and telephone etiquette.
  • Accommodate all guest requests expediently and courteously. Follow up with designated hotel personnel to ensure completion of request.
  • Document guest calls/request for Bellman Assistance.
  • Accommodate all guest requests in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Assist with group luggage requirements
  • Maintain cleanliness and working condition of departmental equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain the condition of the Lobby, Hotel Entrances, and Luggage storage areas.
  • Ensure that all pertinent information is documented in the logbook daily.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
  • Ability to think clearly, quickly, maintains concentration and makes concise decisions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all guest information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service experience in a hotel setting is required.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds at times.
