Job description

TEKsystems is currently seeking a Veritas NetBackup Administrator to join the Compartmented Enterprise Services Office (CESO) effort. This program is establishing a modern secure web service (SWS) operation as part of a state-of-the-art, highly automated platform capable of supporting a rapidly expanding customer population. This position is based in Arlington, VA and is 100% on-site. Requires a TS/SCI US Government Security to start. Primary Responsibilities
• Administer and maintain Veritas NetBackup infrastructure (Master Server, Media Servers, and Clients).
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot backup and restore operations.
• Perform backup policy creation, scheduling, retention management, and lifecycle policies.
• Monitor backup job success rates and resolve failed backup issues promptly.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, storage, database, and application teams for backup requirements.
Maintain backup documentation, operational procedures, and compliance reports.Basic Qualifications
• Experience with application of security settings and other commercial best practices such as DISA STIGS.
• Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms.
• Experience with backup monitoring, reporting, and performance tuning.

Qual Notes from PM:
• Position for a system admin Linux or Windows specialty to work primarily with our Veritas NetBackup product.
• Main focus for any candidate for it doesn't necessarily have to be Veritas or even extreme backup system experience but a demonstrated will to learn and desire to be in a specialized position.
• Someone who has worked some backup administration and understands backup and system restore practices. The idea was always they did part-time backup system work and part-time system admin work but our backup system took up a lot of the past individuals time. Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experienced with DISA and DISA’s support to mission partners
• TS/SCI w/CI Poly Preferred
• Strong hands-on experience with Veritas NetBackup 8.x / 9.x / 10.x.
• Experience with NetBackup Master Server and Media Server administration.
• Familiarity with Oracle, SQL Server, Exchange, SAP, or other enterprise application backups.
• Linux OS experience.
