Production Supervisor

Location: Temperance, MI, 48182

Department: Production

Report To: Plant Supervisor

FLSA: Exempt

Status: Full Time, Salary

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a “hands on” approach to leadership.
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership and team members throughout the fast-paced / high-volume production work environment.
  • Lead manufacturing processes maintaining compliance with all Safety and Quality Guidelines.
  • Maintain detailed records of production metrics including Run Time, Output/Input, Waste, Quality, Repair Time.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of machinery and equipment.
  • Direct and reprioritize production to meet daily quotas, quality, and customer standards.
  • Provide assistance to contributors as workload fluctuates.
  • Promote a “people centric” culture through training, coaching, and developing team members.
  • Provide contributors feedback to close performance gaps.
  • Determine when corrective action plans are required and express recognition.
  • Implement best practices to minimize waste and maximize production, drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Spearhead projects or committees to improve safety, performance, and quality.
  • Accurately perform detailed and organized record keeping.
  • Uphold standards for cleanliness and safe work environments, ensure all work areas meet these expectations.
  • Other duties, tasks, and projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED with 1 - 3 years of leadership / supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Useful fields of study include: business, supply management, engineering)
  • Strong ability to efficiently remain organized, detail oriented and tactful while communicating, troubleshooting and multi-tasking.
  • Self-motivated, operating with a high sense of urgency while working independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient computer skills; Windows, Microsoft Suites, Data Entry Systems, ERP / Inventory Control Systems, phone systems and email systems.
  • Background check required.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Up to 50 direct reports, as well as indirect supervision of up to 50 employees and temporary associates.

Work Environment

Operates in a professional office environment as well as within a manufacturing environment subject to inside environmental conditions and noise.

Often required to sit, use repetitive hand motion, hear, listen, talk, stand, and walk.

Often required to climb stairs, reach overhead, pull, push, and lift up to 50 pounds.
