Job description

Job Title: Well Tester

Job Description

The Well Tester accurately measures, monitors, and records well performance while operating specialized separation and flow control equipment in a demanding industrial environment. This role uses computer systems and software to capture and interpret data, performs basic laboratory procedures, and ensures all work follows strict health, safety, and environmental standards. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, sound judgment in the field, and the ability to work independently outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a choke manifold, including zeroing a choke, and apply the correct manifold configuration for different well conditions and applications.
  • Perform basic servicing and maintenance of choke manifolds to ensure proper operation and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain all required safety training and certifications in good standing.
  • Perform general labor tasks as needed to support well testing, facility operations, and site housekeeping.
  • Work independently while reading and testing wells outdoors, often alone, and communicate any issues or abnormal conditions promptly.
  • Support activities related to water, wastewater, and wastewater treatment as they relate to well testing operations.
  • Proficiency in reading and taking accurate measurements using tape measures and other measurement tools.
  • Basic computer aptitude, including the ability to perform accurate data entry into software programs.
  • Mathematical capabilities sufficient to calculate flow rates, volumes, and related measurements.
  • Ability to follow proper laboratory procedures and methods.
  • Ability to use power tools, hand tools, and measurement tools safely and effectively.
  • Understanding of flow back operations and flow rates.
  • Familiarity with water, wastewater, and wastewater treatment concepts.
  • Commitment to wearing PPE and observing all HSE policies at all times.
  • Ability to maintain required safety training and apply it consistently in the field.
  • Valid driving record with no DUI convictions and at least 5 years with no suspensions, as required for operating company or site vehicles.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
