Job Summary
We are hiring an experienced Machinist || for a contract opportunity in Spanish Fork, UT within the aerospace and defense industry. This role is ideal for a precision-focused machinist with strong experience setting up and operating manual and CNC machining equipment to produce tight-tolerance metal components.
This opportunity offers steady work, 1st or 2nd shift options, and the chance to contribute to high-quality mechanical parts used in demanding applications. You will work in a structured, safety-focused manufacturing environment where skilled trades professionals are valued for craftsmanship, technical knowledge, and sound judgment.
The right candidate will bring pride in precision machining, strong blueprint reading skills, and the ability to solve machining challenges with minimal direction while collaborating with a supportive production team and leadership group.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lay out machining work by reviewing engineering drawings, sketches, written instructions, and verbal direction.
- Set up and operate lathes, mills, grinders, CNC machines, and related equipment to produce precision parts to tight tolerances.
- Perform turning, facing, boring, chamfering, drilling, reaming, tapping, slotting, grooving, spline cutting, and dovetailing operations.
- Calculate angular and linear dimensions, select appropriate tooling, and determine proper machine speeds and feeds.
- Grind cutting tools, drills, and bits, and adapt standard tooling for non-routine machining jobs as needed.
- Load and secure raw stock, support preventive maintenance activities, and follow all safety procedures and operating standards.
- Location: Spanish Fork, UT.
- Shift options: 1st shift, 5:00 AM to 2:30 PM, or 2nd shift, 3:00 PM to 12:30 AM.
