Paid Intern - Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning Location: Salt Lake City, UT, United States (No Local) This position is primarily for educational or religious purposes and should be used for providing valuable educational experiences for the Intern. It is to give the Intern an opportunity to see how principles and practices learned in their educational institutions are applied in actual work setting. Under general supervision, the Intern performs work as assigned by the department. The vision of the Welfare and Self‐Reliance Department is to follow Jesus Christ by embracing the two great commandments to love God and love our neighbor as we minister to temporal needs, build spiritual and temporal self‐reliance, and bless both givers and receivers. This opportunity within the Humanitarian Services division allows participants to gain valuable insights into the operations of humanitarian efforts of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‐day Saints as they work in a critical functional role that includes a wide range of supporting tasks. Duration: August 2026 – April 2027. Part‐time, 28 hours per week, on‐site (Monday‐Wednesday in‐person). Responsibilities Responsibilities may vary by assignment depending on department and need. The Intern receives assignments from supervising staff. The Manager reviews the Intern's work occasionally. The supervisor reviews each assignment as it is completed. The Intern is expected to meet rigid and challenging deadlines, work in harmony with other people, take direction on each assignment, and give full attention to detail. Independence in working, tact, and diplomacy are required. Sound judgment of Church doctrine, history, organization, policy and protocol are also expected. Support team members by providing summarized research, preparing evaluation projects for approval, providing data collection and analysis, preparing professional communications, entering data into Humanitarian Services database, developing training materials, writing business processes and procedures, creating reports, managing projects, and additional projects as identified. Skills Problem‐solving Critical thinking Verbal and written communication Technical writing experience preferred Data management Time management Project management Collaboration and teamwork Analytical skills Research Basic understanding of qualitative and quantitative data collection methods. Basic understanding of program evaluation or related field. Basic understanding of international development in general or specific related fields such as public health, education, or economic development. High tolerance for ambiguity. Willingness to carry out administrative project management tasks. Qualifications Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter. Only members of the Church who are worthy of a temple recommend qualify for employment.
